OCF Games of the Week - October 22

Monday, October 17th 2011 @ 10:37 PM    post viewed 1085 times

As we enter into week eight, each game becomes that much more important.  This week’s games are no exception.   Cincinnati needs to keep pace with conference leader Rutgers as the Bearcats travel to South Florida.  Bowling Green kept it close last week against Toledo but the Falcons need to pick up a defining victory over Temple to stay a top of the MAC Eastern Division race.

Ashland took the first step towards a playoff berth by knocking off undefeated and No. 6 (NCAA II) ranked Wayne State.  Step two will take place on national television as the Eagles will face Saginaw Valley this Thursday.  Second –year program Notre Dame is off to a 5-2 mark and will face in-state foe Urbana.

How about the Blue Streaks of John Carroll?  JC is 4-2 and 4-1 in the OAC as they entertain Ohio Northern for another pivotal game in the conference.   Bluffton, behind head coach Tyson Veidt, are quietly putting together a promising season and a win over Rose-Hulman would help.
