OCF Buckeye State Rankings Are Now Available!

Monday, November 14th 2011 @ 3:26 PM    post viewed 684 times

Cincinnati remains on top of the OCF DI rankings despite the late season loss to West Virginia.  How will the Bearcats fare without the services of Zach Collaros?  OSU’s thoughts of a Big Ten Championship were left on the West Lafayette field as the Buckeye’s fell to Purdue, 26-23 in overtime.

How about those Panthers from Ohio Dominican?  Two weeks ago they knocked off Ashland and this week they handled Indianapolis, 38-26.  Urbana finished the 2011 season with an impressive 8-3 mark while Findlay, under rookie head coach Rob Keys, concluded the season with a 6-5 record.

Mount Union captured the OCF DIII top ranking for the fourth straight season.  Baldwin-Wallace, Case Western Reserve, Heidelberg and Wittenberg rounded out the Top Five.

A couple of big games on tap this week in the Mid-American Conference which could change the landscape of the OCF DI rankings.  Cincinnati held on to defeat Pittsburgh, 26-23, to guide the Big East.

Probably the biggest news over the weekend was Ohio Dominican’s 20 -17 upset win over Ashland.  Coming into the game AU was ranked 6th in the NCAA Super Region No. 3 Rankings.  The win moves the Panthers to the top spot in the OCF FCS/II rankings.  Dayton fell to San Diego, 31-28, at Welcome Stadium.

Baldwin-Wallace almost came up with an upset of their own as it took a late Mount Union touchdown to defeat the Yellow Jackets, 25-20.  Wittenberg dropped a 28-17 decision to Wabash and Mount St. Joseph picked up their 6th win of the year over Hanover.
