Von Kann Hauls in Preseason All-America Honors

Monday, June 1st 2009 @ 9:39 PM    post viewed 286 times

GAMBIER, Ohio - After posting stellar all-around numbers last fall, Kenyon College senior Harry von Kann (Washington, DC/Wilson ISP) was recently named to the 2009 Consensus Draft Services Preseason All-America team. Von Kann, the Lords leading receiver and kick returner in 2008, was one of only 13 Division III offensive players to earn the national honor.

Over the past three seasons, von Kann has amassed 21 touchdown receptions and 1,805 receiving yards. Those totals rank third and tenth, respectively, in the Kenyon record books. Von Kann is coming off his best campaign during which he hauled in 847 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns to go along with 678 yards and two scores on kick returns as the North Coast Athletic Conference's leader in all-purpose yards.

Following his breakout season, von Kann was a dual All-NCAC first-team selection as both a kick returner and wide receiver. Additionally, he was named an All-Ohio Division III first-teamer and the Lords' most valuable player.

Von Kann is the second Kenyon player in as many years to be recognized on the CDS Preseason All-America squad. Offensive lineman Yancy Edwards appeared on the second team prior to the 2008 season.
