Mount hires Greg Huster as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator

The College of Mount St. Joseph officially announces the hiring of Greg Huster as Assistant Head Football Coach. Huster, a 2000 graduate and former football player at the Mount, will also be the team’s recruiting coordinator and defensive coordinator.
Mount Head Coach Rod Huber, who coached Huster during his playing days at the College, had this to say about Huster’s hiring.
"Coach Huster will be a great addition to our staff at the Mount,’’ stated Huber. “He has experience at every level of NCAA football and is a polished professional recruiter. Coach Huster has won everywhere he has been, was a very good player for us when he was a student-athlete at the Mount and we look forward to him directing our recruiting efforts. He brings a lot of energy and excitement to the program.”
Huster comes to the Mount after being most recently at Division I University of Cincinnati, where he was the Bearcats’ Coordinator of Recruiting Services. Huster was a graduate assistant at UC from 2003-2004.
Huster added this about his hiring at his alma mater.

Prior to his position at UC, Huster was at Division II Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA, where he served as the team’s defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach for three seasons.
Huster came to Seton Hill from Division II Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana, where he served as defensive backs coach from January of 2005 to January 2008. In March of 2006, he was promoted to defensive coordinator. In 2007, Huster was promoted to assistant head coach/defensive coordinator. While at Saint Joseph’s, Huster coached several all-conference players. The Pumas captured two conference championships during Huster's time at St. Joseph’s. In addition, Coach Huster was also in charge of the strength and conditioning program during his time at St. Joseph’s.
Seton Hill finished the 2008 season with a 10-3 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs .
Huster had his first stint at the University of Cincinnati as a graduate assistant coach from 2003-04. In 2003, he worked with the defensive linemen under head coach Rick Minter. In 2004, he coached defensive backs under head coach Mark Dantonio.
A native of Cincinnati, he previously served as defensive coordinator at Lockland High School from 2000-03. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in education from the Mount, where he was a four-year starter at defensive back. Huster was a team captain as a senior at the College.
Huster, his wife Christina, daughter Macey, and son Troy, live in Cincinnati.
