I can't believe what I just read. BG is willing to drop to D2 or even worst drop football? This is truly a sat day in Ohio. I also wonder if this is a ploy to get alumni to GIVE more $$ to the school. Nice scare tactic or atleast you hope it is.

I guess the writing of the article doesn't know there are more than two D2 schools in Ohio. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I am having a hard time believing that BG and its alumni would even consider dropping football or going D2. If this is true then the BG President and AD both need to be fired.

I agree that it is hard believing that bgsu would ever drop football or go to d2. Stiil this economy is hurting schools in conferences like the mac hard. Most football programs lose money so this year it has to be really hard. Even if they don't drop what will this do for recruiting. Who will commit to play at bgsu with this hanging over their heads. Also will anyone transfer now? If the powers that be at bg wanted to kill the program I don't know if they could do much to top this. Obviously there isn't anyone at bg who even knows how to properly run the football program or they wouldn't make these announcements. I am glad I am not a bg alumn or student. A sad sad day.    

One other thing, does this forshadow similer announcements at other schools, whether they be in the mac or any other non bcs conference. A scary thought.
