I have heard a lot of great things about Seaman but its difficult for a freshmen to come right in and start. I am hearing that Cecil Shorts might move back to quarterback which is the position he played in high school.

I dont see him moving back to QB, he is to dangerous of a weapon at WR.

He has the potential to be as good as or better then Garcon IMO

Corey - I agree with you. I think Cecil could be better than Garcon at WR but I also know that the MUC offensive is predicated on their QB. If an underclassmen or freshman can't get the job done then you will see Cecil back under center. Think about it...if a QB can't get him the ball then put the ball in his hands.   JMO

I had a chance to watch Cecil last year and it would be a shame if he were not playing wide receiver. However, FBadmin makes a good point. Put the ball in your playmakers hands even if he is at quarterback. Would Cecil be more of a threat than Greg was at quarterback?

Gizz - I can't remember the last time a freshman started for the Purple Raiders. I know the coaches are high on the back up from last year Kurt Rocco.

This is an interesting topic so I hope you don't mind if I offer my views. Mount Union obviously plays at a much higer level than most small colleges across the country. It is very difficult for a true freshman to come right in and play right away even at a small college. MUC is also going to need to find a new running back. Which is going to put additional pressure on a new quarterback.

terrance morring i believe was granted a 5th year of eligability cause he was injured last year, so he may be the starting back. he was at one time ahead of kmic on the depth chart their freshman year.

Gizz - Thanks for the update on the running back situation. Must be pretty good if he was a head of Kmic early on. I did a little research on the quarterback from Florida. He's pretty good...

I am interested on this QB from Fla, seems to have decent height and size, Mount wanted him intially but he turned them down to walk onto USF? Looks like Mounts gets their wish.

Lets see how he does.

Hey, as long as the Mount continues to be the big boys upfront it doesn't matter who is playing QB or RB. Those boys are good.

HI all I think Shorts will be the QB he has looked great all summer, He is bigger then last year.

Rocco has been to one work out?

Mount is loaded with wideouts

All QB,S split time at the 7 on 7 drills, I just think he looks the best so far.

He has a very strong arm can throw deep, we have speed at the wideouts don't think there would be a problem.

Now this is just me talken but MU likes to have there QB run if need be,I don't see a pocket guy there.

Mike - You mentioned 'loaded' at WR. So if Cecil plays QB - other than Vince who else can we expect to step up?

i dought cecil will play a whole lot of qb. hes a difference make at reciever and so valuable there. he almost demands a double team to stop him. also he has nfl scouts looking at him at wr. so he may want to play wr as well. there are also alot of young qbs on the team, kehres started a freshman before with bill borchert. could happen again...

Shorts seems to be a lock at WR D3 All American Pre and Post season (baring injury)Kurt Rocco has a canon. He is tall and mobile but not as mobile as Micheli though.  I believe that you will see Shorts MUC's version of the Wildcat. If Cecil gets the pub he deserves he could be a 3rd or 4th round receiver in next years draft. I have been to alot of College football games in 08 and think that the WR in D1 is down this year. Garcone is good but Shorts blocks downfield and has great YAC exceleration.
