Sometimes you have to get lucky if you are going to have a good season. Sometimes you have to win ugly, sometimes you have to win a game you should have lost. That all refers to ohio's win last night over akron. They were lucky, it was ugly(oh was it ugly) and it was a game they should have lost. Scott had a bad game till the last quarter, they were outgained in both rushing and passing. Were given numorous chances inside akron territory and still couldn't generate anything on offense only scoring 3 points on offense thourh 3. If the akron quarterback hadn't been injured on the next to last play of the first half it looked like it would have eventually been akron's night. Ohio had a lot of trouble trying to stop him. How much losing Jacquemain hurt akron this year was shown last night. Oh two missed field goal attempts by akron didn't help their cause either. Still Ohio in the final quarter finally started making big plays and scott played well when it counted most. The defense made a big stand at the end stopping akron inside the ten late with the score 19-7. Ohio's placekicker has made a nice recovery since the cal-poly game and made two that counted last night without a miss. He also made one late that would have made the final 22-7 but he was roughed on the play. Since akron was out of timeouts at that time and there was only a little of two minutes left ohio took the penalty to run almost all the rest of the clock out. Ohio did have some injuries in the game also. Chris Garett didn't play in the second half and his backup was injured also. Not sure of status of either injury, hope both can be back for miami. Once again sometimes the gods have to be smiling on you if you are going to have a magical season(just like in 06 when all the bounces went ou's way), last night was that night for ohio. One last thing, I love road games, always more fun. It doesn't matter what school you are talking about at home games there are always people there just to pass the time of day and arn't really fans. God help you if you want to stand to cheer. It isn't that way at road games. If you make the effort to travel to a road game you are there to cheer and have a good time watching football. No one ever tells you to sit down at a road game.
