Question By TigerCoach: I’d be interested in knowing what Billy’s expectations for himself and his team are as they enter GLIAC play in 2010. They have a very competitive program and have been quite successful over the past few years and it will be interesting to see how ODU performs in their initial season.

Answer By Billy Griffin: Thanks for the question. Our expectations heading into the GLIAC will be no different from when we were in the NAIA. We expect to go undefeated every year and win a championship. But we also understand that the GLIAC is one of, if not the best, conferences in the country. As a team we are recruiting higher caliber athletes and doing things in the off season that will improve our strength, speed, and conditioning to be able to be competitive at the D2 level. As for personal expectations, I would like to become more consistent in my play and be a better leader for my teammates. With our spread offense and the way we run it, the flow of the game depends on the play of the quarterback. I need to be more consistent in my reads and audibles and be able to lead our team to a successful first year as a member of the GLIAC.
