horrible, terrible, pathetic, embarrasing, that was ohio last night. Oh did I mention that might have been the worst performance by a offense I have seen. Toledo wasn't much better (2x0=) but just enough. If it hadn't been for the defense and toledo missing not one, two or three field goals but 4 field goals it would have and should have been a much wider margin. 2 injured quarterbacks(the one playing can't throw more then 5 yards) doesn't let you have a running game that didn't exist either. Toledo played 8 men in the box and ohio only went downfield twice all game, actually scoring on one. Add to that terrible decision making by jackson and you have two interceptions on short flat passes returned inside the 5. Add in numorous penalties(too be fair toledo commintted them also) and a couple of fumbled punts(one lost) and you get that pathetic performance(sorry i used that adjective already but I couldn't come up with another one).Toledo was bad also(the worst game probably I have ever watched) but at least their coaching staff made adjustments. Solich either could not or just would not make any changes. I realize the third string qb isn't a good passer either but he couldn't have done any worse then jackson. Defense was good but on the field most of the second half and just got tired. Hadn't been for two field goals(one of 49 ) it would have been worse. Oh yes ohio still after all these years still can't cover kicks and has trouble talkling. Solich should take most of the blame for this debacle and be ashamed. Kudo's to todedo, they did what they had to do to win on the road even if they tried their best to lose a easy win.Bad coaching mistake by toledo by the way, they tried a fake exstra point on something you only see in high school ball and of course it failed . Left the score tied at half and ohio within 7 at the end. Oh well if you were ever looking for an example of a game that can ruin the hopes of fans for the year this was it. See if they get 20,000 ever again down there. Makes my decision on weather to go to marshall or stay home and watch cap-wesley game an easy one. |
