On the road at 5-1 Wayne State, the Ashland Eagles were able to rebound from an 8-point half-time deficit (20-28) to outscore the hosts 20-7 to get a key south division win.

Ashland now stands at 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the GLIAC.

Ashland hosts Saginaw Valley this Saturday, who now features Westerville South product Jonathon Jennings at QB. Jennings has led the Cards to 2 of the 3 wins on the season - he came off the bench last week to replace injured starter Chuck Dowdell to lead his team to a 43-31 win over previously unbeaten Michigan Tech. Jennings was 18-21 for 206 yards and TD against MTU, and was key in the win over Indianapolis this past weekend.

This will be a great match-up - pitting two teams who are 'hitting their stride' - GO EAGLES!

good luck eagles, maybe my trip to ashland a few weeks ago was just what they needed. Seriously though great too see them playing so well the last few weeks.

You're sure you're not available this Saturday ... every little bit helps! Laughing

But seriously, it is great to see the team playing so well together - and against tough competition, too.

After reviewing the game stats, Indy had 3 turnovers and 2 poor punts (they only averaged 23 per punt for the day, and their INT was returned 44 yards) that gave SVSU some great field position - as AU's special teams play continues to be strong and the defense can generate some take aways (Logan Kerr's interception and return for TD of Mohner last week at WSU was great), I think the Eagles are in position to get another convincing win at home this week ... we'll see - GO EAGLES!
