Saturday I spent the afternoon and evening attending a very entertaining doubleheader in the cleveland area. I started at case and ended at john carroll. First for sightseeing it is hard to beat the combination of these two beautifull campuses. What can you say about case besides it is on university circle in cleveland and all that goes with it. Beautifull. Then John Carroll, wow what a great place. It is now third on my list of beuatifull campuses but not far behind denison and kenyon. Oh and the short drive from case to carroll makes arlington and bexley look like blue collar neiborhoods in comparison. The games, one very good the whole game , the other good for the first half and then the stronger team took over. Case-wooster game was closer then the final score. It is also a testement of how momentum can change so quickly due to a costly mistake. Wooster controlled the entire third quarter closing to within a touchdown. After a punt pinned case deep case was forced to punt. The scots would have had the ball to start near the case 40 with all the momentum on their side. However a roughing the kicker penelty was a killer, case then drove the length of the field and put the game away. Sloppy at times but still a good game. John Carroll gave ONU all they could handle for the first half but the strength of the onu team came through in a dominating second half. John Carroll gave a good account of themselves though against a excellant squad from ada but ONU is really good this year. Would love to see a rematch with the mt. in the playoffs. A game against either case or wittenberg would be good also.ONU definetley looked better then case but if the game is at case who knows, case supports their football team very well. Oh one last thing, it was nice to see a school returning to the offenses of the past. Nothing against the spread but a good hard hitting running team is nice also. John Carroll also ran quite a bit of the old wishbone. It will be fun watching them in the future. |
