It's one thing that the NCAA didn't suspend these players because of potential revenue loss but Tressel still can hold these players out. And if he doesn't, he will look just as bad as these players who literally 'sold out.'

The only way to save face it to suspend these players for the Sugar Bowl.

Wow...Cavalier Man you are dead on. Could not have said it better myself. This is all about money. I don't expect JT to monitor all of his players because what they do when they are not on the clock is impossible to babysit. But he needs to hold those players accountable. I, for one, will not attend another game if he doesn't.

I don't think Tressel needs to 'man up' as much as those players need to become men. I like the decision he and the seniors made.

I guess we know now why the vest didn't man up. What a fraud. Better hope Smith and the president arn't in on this also(don't be suprised if they arn't) or we might have another smu disaster on our hands. As it is if major sanctions don't come down on osu for this then there is no reason to have the ncaa. Tressel should be fired, the school should be banned from tv and bowl games for at least one if not more years, and certainly should have to forfeit all games that players not eligible were knowingly used. That includes at least all of last season and the bowl. Anything less would be a joke. Once again if you can't sanction a school for a. a coverup,b. lying to the ncaa, and c. knowingly using players not eligible then why bother having any rules at all. Now I know why division 3 football is preferable and much more enjoyable.

When will osu show some backbone and integrity and get serious about real punishment for this guy. He can't tell the school or ncaa because of confidentiality but he can tell a mentor(agent) for pryor. Let's be serious mentor means agent. What else has been going on with this mentor. We all joked about newton's dad but this guy in pa. that tressel was communicating with is going to turn out to be just the same. I wonder if he is a preacher also needing money too fix up his church. No excuses osu , you are no better then usc, auburn, kentucky or anyone else if you don't fire him. Better hope there isn't more comming out osu fans, this could stop just short of the death penelty the way it is going. Loss of scholorships and forfeiting of all games last year should be automatic. Those players should never be allowed to play again for ohio state either. Now I know why I prefer small school sports. None of this bull####.

Quite frankly I don't like the way the ncaa has handled it either. They in effect let 5 professional players play in the sugar bowl. They should have never been alowed to play last year or this year. It is obvious that the only reason they were given the punishment they were was because of monetary concerns. That goes for the North Carolina players who were found to be cheating also. Shame on the NCAA for playing favorites because it was ohio state. If this had been a mac school they would have been hit with close to the death penalty for this. This rant doesn't only pretain to ohio state, it includes all cheaters wheather it be auburn, kentucky, north carolina etc. If the NCAA doesn't show some backbone and come down hard there is no sense in having an NCAA.
