Went to see dayton yesterday, exciting game but inability to pass efectivley and mistakes in field goals really cost dayton. Game closer then final score. Second game of day was ohio-Gardner Webb. Ugliest 4 touchdown win I have ever seen. Ohio will have to play much better against Marshall. Ohio defense looked pretty good but Webb couldn't pass and once running game was figured out they couldn't do that either. New Mexico State beating Minnesota looked better for Ohio then anything Ohio did last night.Kudos to Toledo, they were known to be strongest MAC team this year and they showed it. Altough Ohio State should be concerned they shouln't go overboard with worry, this was the classic trap game. Hard to tell if this says this will be long year because other then Wisconsin the entire big ten doesn't look as good this year. Congratulations to Urbanna for a good win, had thought about going to that game. Only real surprise was Case losing. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised they didn't look that great against John Carroll. Will be interesting to see how next few weeks play out for all ohio schools. Marshall-Ohio next week in athens should be a good one. |

D### Zip, that was some pretty good prognostication on the notre dame-walsh game. Now thats picking the score right. Congratulations to Notre Dame on a very fine win. |

Thanks David for your insight...so was OU really that disappointing? I think Marshall will be a good test for them. I will have to get with Zip to see what he thinks.
I was shocked when I saw the Case Western score. How about Malone begin undefeated at 2-0?
The game I really missed was Ashland's 4OT win over Indianapolis. WOW. |

the offense certainly was dissapointing, very slow start due to a lot of holding penalties and some turnovers. Thanks too the defense(they did look good, more on that to follow) OU did put it out of reach at halftime. The old excuse about not pulling out the playbook might be true but I still hate that excuse no matter who uses it. It usually is trying to make up for poor play. Too be truthfull Webb didn't look like they broke out the whole playbook either. They couldn' pass at all (ou only gave up 12 yards passing)so webb concentrated on running the ball. Once they got their field goal they looked satisfied and wanted to go home. You could tell what webb was going to run on every play and where it was going just by the way they lined up. Offense looked a whole lot better against New Mexico State. Bates hardly played at all saturday night so maybe they are saving something for Marshall. Have to play better against marshall if they want to end the losing streak to the herd. Oh the thing that made Ohio look best last weekend wasn't anything the bobcats did but the fact that New Mexico State beat Minnesota. Would loved to have seen the ashland game, probably going to go see them play findley this year if I don't go to marshall that day instead. My wife would like to visit marshall sometime and that might be the best shot. My son and I were just looking at Michigan's schedule in the future and he mentioned that michigan still has a date too fill in 2013. So does Ohio. Would be nice to go too michigan to see that. Oh my son went to the Notre Dame - Michagan game last weekend, still hasn't got his voice back yet.( okay slight exageration but you know what I mean.) I get a kick listening too a lot of osu fans complaining about the way the bucks played. As you know I am not a buck fan but believe it or not I will stand up for them here. That was the perfect trap game. Lot of players out for various reasons, national tv game next week they were looking too, and an opponent that most people don't know just how good they are. MAC fans would have been glad to tell anyone the Toledo is by far the best team in the MAC this year, nobody else even close. Their game Friday night against Boise State should be interesting. Should be a good weekend comming up, I am also going to wilmington-cap game. |
