I know it's early but does anyone have any thoughts on Ohio DII and DIII offensive and defensive players of the year candidates?

Jeremy Murray - Mout Union OAC Rushing leader and scoring leader. 7.6 yards per carry , 157.6 yards per game and 14.8 points per game. |

Jeremy Murray 26 carries 137 yards and aTD
Germany Woods 24 carries 63 yards and no TDs
Jeremy Murray had more net yards that did Heidleberg's team combined.

hard to argue with that. I haven't had the chance to see him. What kind of back is he as opposed the all time great kimic. Probably will get too see the machine on 11/26 in the playoffs. Very much looking forward too the valhalla of college football and also catch the otterbein-mt. union basketball game afterwards. |

D2 Offensive Player of the Year
DJ Mendenhall QB (Urbana) - The stats speak for themselves. Going into today's game against Seton Hill. Mendenhall has a 152.67 Efficiency Rating based off a 63.3 completion rating totaling 1648 yards for 183.3 ypg with 16 td's. Mendenhall is also a dual-threat QB. Mendenhall leads the team in rushing with 742 yards on a 138 attempts. This totals out 4.5 ypc and 9 TD's. Today against Seton Hill. Mendenhall had 13 carries for 69 yards with 2 tds, he passed for 313 yards with two tds, and had a receiving td.
D2 Defensive Player of the Year
Juan McKeever DB (Urbana) - once again amazing stats. Going into today's game McKeever has 79 tackles for with 3.5 have those coming for a loss. He also has 3 interceptions for a total runback of 110 yards including a 98 yard pick six. Other miscellaneous stats include 10 pass breakups and 2 recovered fumbles on 2 forced fumbles. |

I will biasedly throw ny kids name into the ring for Offensive D3, for this year of 2011.
66 Catches
1133 Yards for 17.16 per catch for total 9 TD's
2138 all purpose yards
on a 3-7 team being double teamed each day out there.
He led the OAC in yds per game, all purpose yardage, KO return yardage and yds per catch (minimum of 40 catches) was second in catch per game and punt return average.
11th in country yds per game and 3rd in country in all purpose, at this point.

he looked pretty good this year jerry, never saw him drop one ball. That is something I can't say about wittenberg's receivers on saturday. They dropped al lot and if they had held onto a few more like your boy they might be in the playoffs.

Thanks, David. He had a solid year and year and I was very proud. All he talked about was trying to get wins. In a couple of his lower stat games, he was used primarily as a decoy so we could run the ball better and our RB was in the 150 range. He never complained.
He could for sure be considered for this type of award, but I am biased as I said before. |
