Was that a great week of ohio football or what? Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!. So much too talk about from tuesday through saturday where do you start? Tuesday one of the great shootouts in football history at toledo. Wednesday a great game with ohio beating the most overhyped team in america in temple. That is quite a bit right there but yesterday can anything match what was seen. I went to the ODU- Ashland game. I thought it would be the best of the day and it was a great game. Congrats ODU on a great performance. More about it maybe in another post. However nothing can match what happened in alliance unless of course Mt. hadn't converted that 4th down pass for a touchdown. I take back everything I have said bad about BW. A great effort, too bad they couldn't pull it off. That must have been a great game to be at. Watched the replay this morning and it certainly was exciting. It will be hard for anything else this year to match what this weekend had to offer. Maybe I'll take it easy and watch kenyon play denison next saturday.

While anything is possible, to put this game in perspective, Mount did not have it starting QB and their number 1 receiver for thsi game. |

The game was extremely exciting, BW really seemed to catch fire once Josiah Holt ran the kickoff back for a touchdown. We were all crushed however when Mount Union threw up that prayer that was answered for a touchdown. If the pass had been broken up, BW could have run out the clock as Mount Union did not have an answer for the wildcat offense that BW started to run that actually got them back into the game. The game unfortunatly ended on a controversial note because of a non call on a pass play that would have put BW further within striking distance with the chance to take one and maybe two shots at the endzone with 14 seconds left. The play in question was an obvious pass interference that the Referees, we believe, swallowed their collective whistles on. The game will be televised on Sports Time Ohio. Please watch the last play on BW's final possession and determine for yourself whether the hearts and souls of BW nation were ripped out by a non-call. The BW faithful should be commended for standing up to the Purple Giants and taking it too them in their house. Mount Union was on the ropes and out of desperation, literally threw a haymaker to floor the feisty challenger. I would love to see a rematch on a neutral site, better yet, put the game back in their backyards that would make the victory that much sweeter. If there truly are playoff gods out there, heres to hoping that they would smile down upon us and grant BW one more crack at Mount Union. Please... Somebody call Prince..... The Purple Reign (Rain) is almost over. |

I am familiar with the play. Unfortunately sto really didn't say that much about it. They do televise a lot of mt. games, I doubt that has anything to do with with their commentary but it should be mentioned. They did mention the BW fans were just a little bit mad at the officails after the game though. Great game, BW sure has come a long way since that first game with wooster. Hope you guys get an at large bid. You deserve it. Wittenberg is out now(if they had won if would have made your choice a lot tougher)so I think there is a very good chance you will get a spot. If it is at berea(doubtfull)I'll be there. |
