Well I won't get into the tressell rumor at akron, that is obviously silly. However a new name most people haven't probably heard is starting too make the round and it would be a great choice. Paul Winters former running back and coach at akron and current head coach at wayne state is the latest name out there. He has done a very good job in the state up north and terry pluto certainly pushed him the other day. He would definetley bring a different attitude. Wayne State is not only the dirtiest football team I have ever seen(talk to anyone from ODU) but the don't give a d*** what you think about it. They just play rough tough, sometimes crossing the line football that is effective. This just might be what Akron needs to get it's program going in the right direction. Unlike some other names no scandal has ever been mentioned with winters either and he seems to run a clean program. I think he would be a great hire for Akron and could really shake things up in the east and finally bring a winner to the palace on Exchange.

Well so much for Paul Winters coaching akron. He turned it down to stay at Wayne State. Can things get any lower at Akron? A coach turning down a d1 job for a d2, wow. Given Winters is a akron grad it makes it even more amazing. I guess I can see two reasons for it besides the awfull shape the program is in. 1. he was turned down the last time when he did want it . 2. the way akron fired the last coach. Who would want to work for someone like that? It is a shame he would have done a great job there. Will be interesting too see who does get hired. It doesn't look like anyone wants it. Oh congrats to coach winters and the wayne state warriors for a great run to the d2 finals.
